A memorable event has taken place in Vrouva farm this Spring: after 14 years of carrying ice for our cooler box and power banks to charge our cell phones, finally electricity has come to the farm.
A very big thank you to all of you who donated in the fundraiser that Marianne set up to buy our solar power system.
We are beyond grateful to her for all her hard work and commitment to this amazing project and of course to Peter Grassi, solar power expert, who bought our system in Switzerland, loaded it in his car and drove it to Vrouva farm with Marianne.
There, he joined forces with our engineer Manoussos, who came with his partner Sarah from Athens.
Our heroic volunteers spent backbreaking days digging trenches for the cables and Hope supervised the whole project with great seriousness.
Now, we have lights all over our farm, a fridge, a freezer and even a washing machine. We have an electric pump for the summer and we can use small tools that make repairs so much easier.
Wow- what an upgrade to life at Vrouva Farm!
