Volunteers are the backbone of Vrouva Farm Sanctuary. The farm is run by a group of about 15 volunteers. We are a very diverse team in age, nationality, sexual orientation, socioeconomic backround and experience. Overcoming the barriers that divide us and working together to help the animals is a very rewarding experience. See Who We Are to learn more about our volunteers.
Our volunteers care for and love the animals. They are passionate about animals.
Caring for the animals can be a powerful learning experience. It can show us a better way to live on this earth. It can be a spiritual path of service or a way to get away from the computer and get some exercise. The common thread though, for all who help at Vrouva Farm is the strong connection we develop with the animals. And that is a great gift.
If you are considering volunteering, you are very welcome! Many of our volunteers live on Aegina, and we have many who come for a week or a month. To enjoy working at Vrouva, you should appreciate a community and communal spirit. We eat and work together in conditions that some would consider difficult. There is no wifi and limited network. We have limited electricity. Toilets and showers are in nature and we live with the constant noise of our animals. Most people love living and working at Vrouva. We do!
